Pattern – Triangle Christmas Tree Motif

Super Cute Coaster

Size: Approximately 4″ wide and 6″ in length.
Experience: Beginner.
Materials: I Love This Yarn – Metallic (a worsted weight or size 4 yarn) from Hobby Lobby.
Tools: Boye crochet hook, U.S. size G.
Gauge: Not necessary to maintain gauge.
Special Stitches Used: Picot = ch 3, sl st in the two front lps at the top of tr just made.
Motif: Starting at center of motif, ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1 (right side): Ch 3, (counts as dc), 3 dc in ring, ch 4, (4 dc, in ring, ch 4) 2 times, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 = 3 ch-4 lps. Ch 3, turn.
Rnd 2: Work 3 dc in next ch-4 lp, ch 4, 4 dc in same lp, ch 1, (4 dc, ch 4, 4 dc in next ch-4 lp, ch 1) 2 times, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 = 3 ch-4 lps and 3 ch-1 sps. Ch 3, turn.
Rnd 3: Work 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, (4 dc, ch 3, tr, dc, hdc) in next ch-4 lp, sc in next dc, hdc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, hdc in next ch-1 sp, sc in next sc, hdc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 1, (hdc, sc, hdc, ch 1, dc) in next ch-4 lp, tr in same lp, Picot (see Special Stitches Used above), (dc, ch 1, hdc, sc, hdc in same lp), ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, hdc in next dc, sc in next dc, hdc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, sk next dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, hdc in next dc, sc in next dc, (hdc, dc, tr, ch 3, 4 dc) in next ch-4 lp, ch 1, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3, ch 1, sc in same st as joining sl st, sc in each of next 3 dc. Ch 1, turn.
Note: This completes the tree.
Tree Trunk: Rows 1 – 4: Sc in each of next 4 sc = 4 sc. Ch 1, turn. Fasten off.
Finishing: Work in all ends.
